Interview | Yu Hao from TranStarX: Decoding COB Transparent Display and Unfolding a New “Vision” for Industry

In 2025, Amid the Wave of Industry 4.0, COB Transparent Display Becomes the Core Link Connecting the Physical and Digital Worlds

Against the backdrop of Industry 4.0 in 2025, COB transparent display has emerged as the core link bridging the physical and digital worlds. Among its key priorities, achieving high-definition, transparent, and synchronized visual perception stands out as the most critical.
On TranStarX’s highly automated production lines, individual substrates undergo a precise transformation. These screens, manufactured at TranStarX’s factory in Bao’an, Shenzhen, are ultimately shipped from Yantian Port to destinations worldwide, eventually becoming the “eyes” that light up the globe.
Yet, in this “visible” kingdom, Yu Hao—TranStarX’s leader—has set his sights beyond the physical clarity and brightness of displays, gazing toward a more “intelligent” future.
As a domestic company specializing in COB transparent display technology, TranStarX Technology is driving the deep digitalization of industrial scenarios through its unique technological path. As a “veteran” in China’s display manufacturing sector, how does TranStarX infuse “perception” and “intelligence” into these “cold” screens amid the wave of AI? How do its traditional manufacturing roots coexist and integrate with cutting-edge intelligent technology? Facing cyclical fluctuations in the panel industry and cross-sector competition, how will this giant break through challenges?
We conducted an in-depth interview with Mr. Yu Hao, President of TranStarX Technology. Listen to this leader—who has guided the company through multiple industrial cycles—share his profound insights into the “display evolution theory” and his ambition to break boundaries.

Part 01 Breaking Boundaries: When “Display” Meets “Intelligence”—An Evolution for Survival

Mr. Yu, as a leader in traditional display manufacturing, why has TranStarX elevated “intelligent transformation” to an unprecedented strategic height? Is this a proactive embrace of the future, or an inevitable choice driven by circumstances?
TranStarX’s predecessor was a well-established domestic enterprise with years of experience in traditional display production and services. It was founded to break free from the extreme homogeneity and internal competition plaguing the traditional manufacturing industry today. From the early stages of strategic positioning, we did not choose mature traditional technology routes or supply chains; instead, we opted for the most challenging technical path.
COB technology has been applied to traditional display products for many years, but few have attempted to use it in the R&D of highly transparent innovative display products—and most of those few attempts failed. The reason is that there is no mature supply chain for applying COB technology to transparent displays, and it requires continuous investment in R&D and innovation. TranStarX’s core team has accumulated years of experience in both supply chain management and R&D. Since the TranStarX brand was launched, our products have been released to the market simultaneously, attracting significant attention from the industry and maintaining strong momentum.
Currently, TranStarX’s marketing and promotion efforts are still in the early stages. Our brand has only been exposed to the market for just over a year, and we primarily position ourselves as a channel brand. Regarding our market expansion methods: offline, we participate in the most influential industry exhibitions; online, we promote and popularize our new products through major new media platforms. Over the past year, our company has received visits from more than 2,000 enterprises and has gradually established cooperation in most regions at home and abroad.
In what aspects is TranStarX’s intelligent transformation reflected? In your view, what is the most core breakthrough or advantage?
Currently, over 85% of the LED display market is still dominated by traditional display products. We not only collaborate with upstream and downstream partners to serve old customers well in the traditional display market but also continuously guide everyone to invest in the supporting R&D of new products, driving joint transformation and upgrading.
TranStarX’s transparent product series has five core advantages: ultra-light (0.2kg/m²), ultra-thin (screen thickness of 0.8mm), ultra-transparent (over 90% light transmittance), ultra-energy-saving (30%-50% lower energy consumption than conventional LED products), and ultra-stable (IP68 protection level for COB series products). These advantages are all achieved through our independently designed and developed semiconductor packaging equipment, high-precision integrated circuits, and innovative surface packaging processes.

Part 02 Vision: Finding a New Position in the “Screen Universe”—Unlocking Infinite Possibilities in an “Ordinary Screen” World

The current display industry is highly competitive, with both panel giants and cross-sector technology companies (such as Hikvision, Hisense, etc.). How does TranStarX define its new role? What are the key priorities for its future strategy?
At this stage, TranStarX has fully developed basic products for high-end transparent display engineering projects. While continuously iterating and optimizing basic products, we have also received product demand from many segmented scenario fields. In the future, TranStarX will selectively launch competitive products based on different needs. Going forward, we will continue to invest in R&D and innovation, and we also hope to find like-minded strategic partners to increase investment in product R&D and accelerate market promotion.
We plan to comprehensively enhance our product technology and achieve global brand market coverage within 3-5 years, aiming to become a leading enterprise in the high-end transparent display LED track. I believe that no matter how technology evolves, “people-oriented” will always be the starting point of TranStarX’s innovation. What we pursue is not only clearer image quality and faster response but also the warmth, efficiency, and better life experience carried by the screens.
Our conversation with Yu Hao reveals the clarity, courage, and pragmatism of a traditional manufacturing giant amid the wave of intelligence. TranStarX’s transformation is not just the superposition of technologies, but an evolution rooted in its core DNA—integrating the hard power of “intelligent manufacturing” with profound insights into the future of “visual experience.”
When screens endowed with “intelligence” roll off TranStarX’s production lines and head out into the world, they are no longer just glass that reflects light, but “intelligent entities” that connect reality and digital, drive efficiency, and create beauty. Yu Hao and his team are committed to unlocking infinite possibilities in this “ordinary screen” world.
